Letter Campaign
Welcome, and thank you for joining our letter writing campaign to advocate for much needed change in Pennsylvania’s cyber charter school funding formula. As members of a community that values public education and responsible budgeting, we need to ensure that every dollar directly supports our students. At a time when the West Shore School District is budgeting $10 million for cyber charter tuition for the 2025-26 school year, we need our legislators to fix this deeply-flawed funding model that places an unfair burden on local taxpayers to cover increases.
Thanks to strong advocacy and bipartisan leadership, House Bill 1500 (HB 1500) has passed the PA House of Representatives and moves to the Senate, which is a major step forward in ensuring fairer, more adequate education funding across the Commonwealth.
To participate, select the PDF for your state senator below. Add your personal information, and be sure to sign and include your municipality. If you’re unsure, find your legislators here. A non-WSSD letter is available if you're outside the school district, but would like to support this change.
Then, choose one of these methods to deliver your message (contact information is below):
-
Send your letter via email to the appropriate senator/state legislator
-
Print it out and send via standard US mail
Act before June 16, 2025- the deadline when the budget is finalized and let them know that you value how public education dollars are spent. Thanks for standing up for our schools!
